TRAVEL
Tips for getting around Greece
In Athens
Getting around Athens is really easy by walking, metro, bus or taxi. Travelling from Athens International Airport to the city center is easiest by train (€9).
Outside Athens
Traveling outside of Athens (on the mainland) is easiest by car. Rent a car in advance for best prices and if you're from outside of the EU make sure to get an international driving licence.
We've had good experiences with Europcar, but many major rental car businesses operate in Greece.

ACROPOLIS
Ancient Greece's pride & joy, the Acropolis is a must-see!

Top tip: visit the acropolis museum before going up to the real thing.
MOUNT LYCABETTUS
30 minutes and 1.4 km to the top, the trek to the Mount Lycabettus is well worth it. At the top, enjoy the view of Athens and a cuppa from the cafe.
NATIONAL GARDENS
After observing the changing of the guard in Syntagma, grab a freddo espresso and escape from the city into the beautiful Athen's National Gardens.
